MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION

MEMBERSHIP ELIGIBILITY:

The Fraternal Order of Police is open to any regularly appointed, full-time employed, and retired Law Enforcement Officer of the United States, the United States Armed Forces, the State of Washington, Native American tribes, or political sub-division thereof, shall be eligible for membership in the lodge, subject to provisions of the Constitution and the By-laws of the Lodge. A Law Enforcement Officer is an employee of an agency, who is/was authorized by law to engage in or supervise the prevention, detection, investigation, or prosecution of, or the incarceration of any person for, any violation of law, and has statutory powers of arrest or apprehension under section 807(b) of title 10, United States Code (article 7(b) of the Uniform Code of Military Justice).

MEMBERSHIP DUES & FEES

$100.00 annual Membership for fulltime law enforcement officers.

$75.00 annual membership for retired law enforcement officers.

Annual dues were raised for 2024 by vote in 2023.- For members paying by cash, ACH withdrawal, check, money order or Paypal.

FOP LEGAL DEFENSE PLAN OPTION: Group plan premium is $325.00 annually, effective December 2022.

Present your completed application, dues payment, and law enforcement credentials/commission to any Lodge Officer for endorsement, or; Bring your application and dues to the next regular Board or Membership meeting, (See meeting notices on the events page.) or; Mail your application package, payment, and copy of your credentials/commission card (voided out) to:

Upon completion of your application, receipt of membership dues, and approval of your application by vote of the membership. You will be invited to attend a regular meeting, and will be sworn in. Your membership card will be forwarded to you when received by National. Please allow 4-6 weeks. payroll deduction, select Option B or C. FOP Legal Defense Plan

Active Members:FOP Legal Defense provides active members insurance for the legal defense of administrative, civil, and criminal actions through FOPs Washington State Counsel. Premiums are $325 paid annually or via Check/PAYPAL or monthly $35.42, by ACH, or by pay period $16.35 (These amounts include annual membership. Legal Defense for Tribal officer’s covers Civil and Criminal $75 annually. Groups and Guild FOP membership, bargaining, and Legal are paid by the guild.

Retired Members: LEOSA Insurance is available with unlimited converge for $75 per year. Enrollment is individually and premiums are paid by the member directly to Hylant.
